Bulgarian and English navigation makes the orchestra’s work accessible to different audiences.
INSIDE THE PROJECT
Features & capabilities
Explore the tools and workflows built into this project.
System-theme detection and manual switching avoid theme flashes; saving preferences follows the visitor’s consent. Portraits transition from monochrome to colour.
Phone/tablet/desktop layouts include a closable mobile drawer, scroll-aware header, safe long ticket buttons, iOS safe-area consideration, overflow protection and available browser zoom.
Skip links, semantic regions, labels, keyboard navigation/focus, focus-managed dialogs, alternative text and reduced-motion support underpin access.
02CAPABILITIES02 / 17
Dynamic homepage
Image and MP4/WebM hero slides require poster fallbacks, rotate every 7.5 seconds and have previous/next plus localized pause/play controls.
Slides pause when the tab is hidden; reduced-motion visitors receive static posters.
A next-concert spotlight and live countdown precede up to three additional upcoming-event cards, with ticket, directions, calendar, detail and sharing actions.
Latest news and a featured video keep the homepage connected to current activity.
03CAPABILITIES03 / 17
Concerts, archive and locations
Administrators edit titles, summaries, full descriptions, dates/times, venues/addresses, images, featured/publication states and automatic or custom search-friendly slugs.
Dedicated event URLs remain available after archiving. Europe/Sofia classification moves timed events to Past at their start time; date-only events remain Upcoming until midnight.
Events offer downloadable iCalendar files, Google Maps directions, latitude/longitude and Place ID support.
Admin address suggestions and a draggable marker support location entry, with manual coordinates available without Google Maps. Administrator-corrected locations are protected from Facebook overwrites.
04CAPABILITIES04 / 17
External tickets and physical box office
A multilingual Tickets page supports multiple ordered/published sellers per event, including Eventim, Entase, Grabo and additional partners.
Buy-ticket actions open official seller websites. The orchestra site does not process payment or bank-card data.
Configurable translated box-office name, address, hours, phone, directions and instructions provide a fallback when online tickets are unavailable.
Facebook ticket_uri and trusted description links can populate sellers, with approved domains, labels, deduplication and obsolete-link cleanup. Manual ticket links remain independent; arbitrary description links are ignored.
05CAPABILITIES05 / 17
Facebook synchronization
Separate post/event syncs import news, concert details, images, coordinates, event URLs and detected ticket links. Facebook IDs update existing records rather than duplicating them.
Images are downloaded locally instead of depending on temporary Facebook CDN URLs. Post sync can continue if the Events API is unavailable.
Manual admin runs show separate results, history, created/updated counts and errors. Imported material can still be edited, reviewed or unpublished.
A CLI-only cron with a non-blocking lock supports 10–15 minute synchronization intervals and prevents overlapping runs; integration secrets use protected configuration.
06CAPABILITIES06 / 17
Five-language content management
Bulgarian, English, German, French and Spanish have language-specific URLs, dates, navigation, controls, metadata, contact/settings copy, sharing, maintenance, consent and subscription emails, with Bulgarian fallback for missing translations.
BG/EN/DE/FR/ES editing tabs keep forms compact, share images/dates/links/publication settings and remember the last selected tab.
A coverage dashboard and non-destructive Add missing translations operation preserve existing administrator translations; starter content is seeded in all five languages.
hreflang, x-default, localized Open Graph and multilingual sitemap entries describe the language versions.
07CAPABILITIES07 / 17
Hear the Orchestra and musician profiles
Interactive trumpet, trombone, saxophone, rhythm-section and conductor introductions have translated titles/descriptions, photographs, ordering/publication controls and optional MP3/OGG/WAV audio.
A complete roster includes names, roles, instruments, five-language biographies, portraits and custom ordering, with a dedicated conductor presentation and responsive portrait interactions.
08CAPABILITIES08 / 17
Immersive photo gallery
A layered visual diary places a featured photograph among surrounding depth and a blurred background derived from the active image.
Year filters, an editorial masonry archive and portrait/landscape/panoramic layouts complement previous/next controls and mobile swipes.
The full-screen viewer shows title/date/position, supports arrow keys, Escape, backdrop closing and swipe navigation, and manages focus trapping/restoration and alternative text.
Dedicated light and dark gallery presentation follows the site theme.
09CAPABILITIES09 / 17
News, video and event sharing
Manual or Facebook-imported articles have multilingual title/summary/body, image, date/time, publication state, slugs, individual pages and an archive; synchronized articles retain their original Facebook link.
YouTube videos have translated metadata, ordering and featured/publication controls. No iframe is present initially: privacy-enhanced playback loads only after External Media permission, with a direct YouTube link available without consent.
Events use native sharing where supported or a localized desktop interface for Facebook, WhatsApp, Viber, email and copy-link, including event information where appropriate.
10CAPABILITIES10 / 17
Contact and institutional information
A contact form collects name, email, optional phone, subject and message, with a management inbox, CSRF, honeypot, throttling and privacy consent.
Editable institution/authority/director information, phone, email, address and social links present the municipal cultural organization in translated public content.
11CAPABILITIES11 / 17
Opt-in concert newsletter
Explicit consent and double opt-in use an immediate confirmation-email attempt and a secure 48-hour link, with protected consent records and stored subscriber language.
Pending, active, unsubscribed, bounced and complained states, secure unsubscribe links, one-click headers, admin unsubscribe/resend and CSV export support list management.
Newly published upcoming events are announced once, including manual and Facebook events; editing does not repeat announcements. A 15-minute wait includes subscribers confirming in the announcement window and groups simultaneous imports.
Each subscriber receives localized branded HTML/plain text with event details/image, tickets or box-office fallback, directions, calendar, event link, privacy and immediate unsubscribe.
12CAPABILITIES12 / 17
Durable email delivery
Provider-independent authenticated SMTP, including SuperHosting mailboxes, uses a database queue, immediate confirmation attempts and five-minute retry cron.
Exponential backoff, configurable small batches, an exclusive process lock, failed-message admin retries and unsubscribe cancellation control delivery.
Status dashboards, recent logs, errors/attempts and an SMTP readiness indicator make delivery issues visible.
13CAPABILITIES13 / 17
Administration and maintenance
Responsive dashboards count events, news, gallery, videos, messages and subscribers, with quick actions and a maintenance warning.
Forms support multilingual editing, featured/publication states, ordering, slugs, MIME-validated media uploads and confirmation before destructive actions.
Translated maintenance pages return 503, Retry-After and noindex. Signed-in administrators retain site access; login, installer and CLI sync remain available, with a persistent admin warning.
14CAPABILITIES14 / 17
Consent and privacy
A five-language consent centre offers equally visible Accept All/Reject Optional, granular Necessary/Preferences/External Media choices, versioned records and 180-day retention.
Permanent Cookie Settings allow revision/withdrawal. YouTube stays blocked until permission; theme preference is stored only after Preferences consent.
Translated privacy/cookie policies accompany the interface. The supplied deployment has no advertising trackers or active analytics platform.
15CAPABILITIES15 / 17
Search publishing and performance
Clean URLs, unique titles/descriptions, canonicals, localized Open Graph/images/locales, hreflang/x-default, XML sitemaps and robots.txt support discovery, including past events.
PerformingGroup, MusicEvent and ticket Offer structured data describe the institution, performers, event location/coordinates and ticket availability.
Responsive srcset/WebP derivatives, native lazy loading, caching, versioned CSS/JavaScript, deferred scripts and compression where available support shared-hosting limits.
Locally stored Facebook images and privacy-gated video avoid unnecessary third-party loading. No frontend or external JavaScript framework is required.
16CAPABILITIES16 / 17
Security controls
PHP password hashing, login throttling, session regeneration and strict cookie-only sessions with HttpOnly, HTTPS Secure and SameSite=Lax controls protect administration.
State-changing forms use cryptographically random CSRF tokens; prepared statements, MIME/size checks, random upload names and disabled script execution in uploads protect data/media workflows.
Per-request-nonce CSP, HTTPS HSTS, SAMEORIGIN framing, nosniff, strict referrer and restricted permission policies complement blocked private/configuration/application/storage/cron/documentation and backup-style paths.
CLI-only jobs and process locks protect scheduled work. Facebook tokens stay outside the database/public JavaScript, and SMTP credentials use protected local configuration.
17CAPABILITIES17 / 17
Installation and developer workflow
A guided browser installer configures the database/admin, schema, starter content and five-language seed, then locks installation. Manual configuration and existing-site SQL migrations are also available.
PHP 8.1+, MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.4+, Apache, PDO MySQL, mbstring, fileinfo, sessions and cURL are required; mod_rewrite is recommended, with query-string routing fallback.
Plain PHP and vanilla HTML/CSS/JavaScript require no mandatory framework, obfuscation, license server, recurring software subscription or server build process.
Modular views, private integration settings, a local SQLite preview, automated regressions, ZIP packaging, deployment/backup documentation and customizable source support maintenance.
